EVHS has provided many opportunities for students interested in computer science to further their studies and experiences in the field through many different programs. In addition to the classes offered on campus, many clubs have helped provide further-in-depth experiences into different career choices. To provide the community at EVHS with specialized learning opportunities , the Cloud Computing Club at EVHS has been working to teach and prepare students for careers in fields such as cybersecurity, data computing and more.

“The EVHS Cloud Computing Club's mission is to prepare students for future careers in Cloud Computing, Data Science, Networking, Storage, Cybersecurity, etc,” said Parth Paliwal, Club President of the Cloud Computing Club. “We hope to provide the platform and necessary skills for students to explore the world of the cloud and turn to it when needed as these skills are helpful in every profession.”

One of the many educational opportunities provided by the EVHS Cloud Computing Club are their workshops. Each workshop focuses on different aspects of cloud computing. Each can be applied in many different fields within cloud computing.

For those interested in delving in deeper or considering testing the waters, the EVHS Cloud Computing Club will be holding a workshop this Thursday on February 17 in B111 during lunch.

“The workshop will be a hands-on application of deploying a react application on the cloud using AWS Amplify. This week we’ll be teaching basic commands for computer CLI and building the react application,” said Parth Paliwal.

Students are welcome to join regardless of their experience and skill levels. However, having a computer running Windows, Mac, or Linux would be helpful though not required or necessary. Be sure to be prepared to create an AWS account as well. This will require credit card information, but the account will remain free of charge for at least a year. The AWS account students create for this workshop will also be utilized in coming workshops such as deploying servers with EC2 and storage with S3.
